I love online shopping.
Not only in the way that results in a stack of packages at my doorstep. I love making it effortless (and maybe even fun) for us all to discover, compare, and click that Buy button.
It’s not enough for a product to be an easy sell, it’s also gotta be easy to buy. Even the most complex tech doesn’t need to feel complex to attain. I believe that the copy that gets the product in your cart should never be so clever it forgets to be clear. But it should never be so clear that it forgets to celebrate the magical way it feels to find the thing that’s exactly what you were looking for. That’s my sweet spot.
Where in the world?
Born in Ottawa, ON, Canada, I was raised on Montreal-style bagels.
I earned my Bachelor of Design in Advertising with a minor in Creative Writing at OCAD University in Toronto, ON, Canada, where I also learned to live and breathe a good grid system. In the midst of my time there, I spent a semester abroad to study Design & Visual Communications at Griffith University in Brisbane, QLD, Australia, and spent all my spare time on the Gold Coast beach.
While working as a copywriter for Critical Mass Toronto, I struck a deal to relocate to their Sunnyvale, CA office as an on-site vendor for Apple. The night before I moved, it was -40 degrees — the same temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit, so it translates seamlessly to both cultures that I also struck a better deal for the California climate.
After six years in the Bay Area, through commuter traffic, pandemic, and wildfires, my husband and I have found our bliss by relocating to Portland, OR. We’re basking in the food culture, greenspaces, walkability (grid systems, I missed you!), weather (yes, even the rain), and community.
But I love my work and the people I tackle it with, so once a week I take my commute to Sunnyvale to the skies instead of the 101. Hit me up if you want to know the Southwest frequent flyer hacks, PDX airport secrets (did someone say speakeasy?), or reviews of every drink on the SJC Trader Vic’s menu.
